Teaching with technology is so much fun and makes any classroom an intriguing place to be. One of the great Web 2.0 (that’s the term techies use for web based programs that can be used in the classroom) tools that I use multiple times a year is a program called Animoto. I love it for it’s ease of use, the fact that it is free (or at least has a free version), and because it has an education version which helps me secure internet safety for my kiddos.
Animoto takes still pictures and turns them in to a slide show type presentation media where text can be added to explain the pictures. My 3rd graders could make one in about 30 minutes when they need to. Below are some examples of Animoto’s that my kiddos have made this year. Just click on one of the pictures to see an example.
